Did you know that Blue Roses are a symbol of love and prosperity?…. well that is how they have been portrayed in art and literature throughout the centuries. This is despite the fact a true blue rose does not exist in nature. There simply isn’t a rose gene up to the job of producing the blue seen in this wedding invitation from Olivia Samuel and the closest that nature can provide is a lilac colour and this is usually as a result of complex hybrid breeding program devised by an over keen horticulturalist.
Anyway, you are probably fully aware from wedding magazines and fashion wedding blogs that blue roses are very much in existence in the wedding world and can look absolutely stunning. They are produced by adding blue pigment to the petals or blue dye to their feeding water.
