Vintage Wedding Invitations

There is something really romantic about the past and the inspirations of the Old World.

Whether, you are inspired by costumes from a certain era or a love story such as Romeo & Juliet, it is apparent that the Vintage Romance theme is here to stay.

We recognise Vintage today as meaning something we want to bring back and remember fondly, something which positively influences our future.  This could be an old Vintage china tea set that reminds us of tea with ‘Nana & Grandad’, the sound of vinyl crackling on an old record player or the smell of our favourite child hood sweet, mine was ‘pear drops’.

So many of us today, are opting into this Vintage Romance theme for our wedding celebrations and it’s no surprise really.  There is so much to choose from, and it really does put a magical spin on every part of the occasion.

Starting with the invitations, if its Old World romance you want, then choosing a Letterpress design couldn’t be more vintage, Letterpress is the oldest form of printing, where a surface with raised letters is inked and pressed to the top of the printing to reproduce an image on reverse, its effect is very impressive and creates a stylish and memorable print on any wedding invitation.

Or you could pick from one of the beautiful laser cut designs, featuring delicate butterflies, lovebirds or even a laser cut tandem …how quirky and quaint! Especially if you decide to leave your venue as a married couple using this fabulous form of vintage travel, a bicycle made for two…

What about the reception?  There are just so many Vintage inspired ideas to choose from, an English Country Garden, with summer bunting floating high above in the blue cloudless sky, wheelbarrows full of scented Pastel coloured Sweet Peas, Lilac Lavender, and delicate antique pink Roses.

Your guest’s tables laid out and adorned with crisp white doilies and delicate vintage china, and pretty cake stands bursting at the seams with Victoria sponge.  A Vintage leather suitcase full of good luck messages from your family and friends, whilst fairy lights twinkle amongst the branches in the trees, signalling that your magical day is entering into the evening part of your wedding celebrations, a night full of laughter and dancing ahead.  Maybe your first dance will be to the mesmerising sound of Etta James ‘At Last’ bellowing beautifully out from an old fashioned Vintage gramophone.
